CAMSHAFT OIL CONTROL SOLENOID(for Bank 1) INSTALLATION

CAUTION / NOTICE / HINT

CAUTION:

To prevent burns, do not touch the engine, exhaust manifold or other high temperature components while the engine is hot.

PROCEDURE


  1. INSTALL CAMSHAFT TIMING OIL CONTROL SOLENOID ASSEMBLY (for Exhaust Side of Bank 1)


    1. B004Y34C01
      *1 O-ring

      Apply engine oil to a new O-ring.

      Note

      Do not damage the O-ring.

    2. Install it to the camshaft timing oil control solenoid assembly as shown in the illustration.

    3. Install the camshaft timing oil control solenoid assembly to the timing chain cover assembly with 2 new bolts.

      Torque:
      10 N*m  { 102 kgf*cm, 7 ft.*lbf }

      Note


      • If the camshaft timing oil control solenoid assembly has been struck or dropped, replace it.

      • Make sure that the O-ring is not cracked or moved out of place when installing the camshaft timing oil control solenoid assembly.

    4. Connect the camshaft timing oil control solenoid assembly connector.

    5. Install the wiring harness clamp bracket with the 4 bolts.

      Torque:
      10 N*m  { 102 kgf*cm, 7 ft.*lbf }

    6. Connect the engine wire with the nut.

      Torque:
      10 N*m  { 102 kgf*cm, 7 ft.*lbf }

    7. Attach the 2 clamps.

  2. INSTALL CAMSHAFT TIMING OIL CONTROL SOLENOID ASSEMBLY (for Intake Side of Bank 1)


    1. B004Y34C01
      *1 O-ring

      Apply engine oil to a new O-ring.

      Note

      Do not damage the O-ring.

    2. Install it to the camshaft timing oil control solenoid assembly as shown in the illustration.

    3. Install the camshaft timing oil control solenoid assembly to the timing chain cover assembly with 2 new bolts.

      Torque:
      10 N*m  { 102 kgf*cm, 7 ft.*lbf }

      Note


      • If the camshaft timing oil control solenoid assembly has been struck or dropped, replace it.

      • Make sure that the O-ring is not cracked or moved out of place when installing the camshaft timing oil control solenoid assembly.

    4. Connect the camshaft timing oil control solenoid assembly connector.
