CAMSHAFT OIL CONTROL SOLENOID(for Bank 1) ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION

PROCEDURE

1. INSPECT CAMSHAFT TIMING OIL CONTROL SOLENOID ASSEMBLY

   
   

   1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

   2. Turn the power switch on (IG).

   3. Turn the GTS on.

   4. Put the engine in inspection mode (2WD for measuring exhaust gas).

      Click here

   5. Start the engine.

   6. Inspect the camshaft timing oil control solenoid assembly (for intake side).

      
      

      1. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine / Active Test / Control the Intake VVT OCV Duty Ratio Bank 1 / Data List / Intake VVT Change Angle Bank 1.

         
         Powertrain > Engine > Active Test

         Active Test Display
         Control the Intake VVT OCV Duty Ratio Bank 1

         Data List Display
         Intake VVT Change Angle Bank 1

      2. Read the Data List while performing the Active Test with the engine idling.

         OK
         GTS Operation Data List (VVT Change Angle #1) -100% to 100% Varies by 55 DegFR or more

         If the result is not as specified, check the camshaft timing oil control solenoid assembly, wire harness and ECM.

   7. Inspect the camshaft timing oil control solenoid assembly (for exhaust side).

      
      

      1. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine / Active Test / Control the Exhaust VVT OCV Duty Ratio Bank 1 / Data List / Exhaust VVT Change Angle Bank 1.

         
         Powertrain > Engine > Active Test

         Active Test Display
         Control the Exhaust VVT OCV Duty Ratio Bank 1

         Data List Display
         Exhaust VVT Change Angle Bank 1

      2. Read the Data List while performing the Active Test with the engine idling.

         OK
         GTS Operation Data List (VVT Ex Chg Angle #1) -100% to 100% Varies by 36.5 DegFR or more

         If the result is not as specified, check the camshaft timing oil control solenoid assembly, wire harness and ECM.
