HEIGHT CONTROL SENSOR(for Front Side) INSPECTION

PROCEDURE


  1. INSPECT FRONT HEIGHT CONTROL SENSOR SUB-ASSEMBLY LH


    1. for 2WD:


      1. Connect 3 dry cell batteries (1.5 V) in series.

        Note

        Do not use rechargeable batteries as they may not output a voltage of 1.5 V.

      2. Connect a positive (+) lead from the batteries to terminal 3 (SHB) and a negative (-) lead to terminal 1 (SHG).

        Note

        Do not apply higher than 6 V.

      3. Measure the voltage between terminals 2 (SHFL, SHFR) and 1 (SHG) while slowly moving the link up and down.

        Standard Voltage
        for LH Side
        Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
        A74-2 (SHFL) - A74-1 (SHG) +30° (High) 3.45 V
        0° (Standard position) 2.25 V
        -30° (Low) 1.05 V
        for RH Side
        Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
        A75-2 (SHFR) - A75-1 (SHG) +30° (High) 3.45 V
        0° (Standard position) 2.25 V
        -30° (Low) 1.05 V

        If the result is not as specified, replace the front height control sensor sub-assembly.

    2. for AWD:


      1. Connect 3 dry cell batteries (1.5 V) in series.

        Note

        Do not use rechargeable batteries as they may not output a voltage of 1.5 V.

      2. Connect a positive (+) lead from the batteries to terminal 3 (SHB) and a negative (-) lead to terminal 1 (SHG).

        Note

        Do not apply higher than 6 V.

      3. Measure the voltage between terminals 2 (SHFL, SHFR) and 1 (SHG) while slowly moving the link up and down.

        A68-2 (SHFL) - A68-1 (SHG) +30° (High) 3.45 V
        0° (Standard position) 2.25 V
        -30° (Low) 1.05 V
        for RH Side
        Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
        A69-2 (SHFR) - A69-1 (SHG) +30° (High) 3.45 V
        0° (Standard position) 2.25 V
        -30° (Low) 1.05 V

        If the result is not as specified, replace the front height control sensor sub-assembly.
