MOTOR CABLE INSTALLATION

CAUTION / NOTICE / HINT

CAUTION:

As the engine assembly with transmission is extremely heavy, the engine lifter may suddenly drop if the instructions listed in the repair manual are not followed.

Therefore, always follow the instructions listed in the repair manual when performing this procedure.

PROCEDURE


  1. INSTALL MOTOR CABLE

    Note

    When installing the motor cable, make sure not to bend the motor cable base on the hybrid vehicle transmission assembly side.


    1. B004YR2

      Using an insulated tool, temporarily install the motor cable to the hybrid vehicle transmission assembly with the 5 bolts.

      Note

      Keep foreign matter, water, etc., away from the motor cable terminals and their installation area.

      Tech Tips

      When installing the motor cable, hold the motor cable by hand so that the motor cable base is not bent.

    2. B004RD4

      Using an insulated tool, tighten the motor cable terminals with the 3 bolts.

      Torque:
      8.0 N*m  { 82 kgf*cm, 71 in.*lbf }

      Note

      Keep foreign matter, water, etc., away from the motor cable terminals and their installation area.

      Tech Tips

      When installing the motor cable, hold the motor cable by hand so that the motor cable base is not bent.

    3. B004WOK

      Using an insulated tool, tighten the 2 bolts.

      Torque:
      8.0 N*m  { 82 kgf*cm, 71 in.*lbf }

      Note

      Keep foreign matter, water, etc., away from the motor cable terminals and their installation area.

    4. B004U9B

      Attach the 2 claws to install a new terminal cap to the hybrid vehicle transmission assembly.

      Note


      • Check that the terminal cap is securely installed.

      • Do not pinch the O-ring.

    5. B004RZW

      Using an insulated tool, install the connector cover to the hybrid vehicle transmission assembly with the 2 bolts.

      Torque:
      8.0 N*m  { 82 kgf*cm, 71 in.*lbf }
    6. B004U78

      for LHD:

      Connect the 2 clamps of the motor cable to the engine assembly.

    7. B004WCF

      for RHD:

      Connect the 3 clamps of the motor cable to the engine assembly.
