INITIALIZATION
CAUTION:
Be careful not to get pinched by the active rear wing assembly when the active rear wing is operating.
Note
When performing the confirmation driving pattern, obey all speed limits and traffic laws.
When performing initialization with the GTS, the active rear wing will be forcibly operated. Be careful not to get pinched by the active rear wing assembly when the active rear wing is operating.
Initialization can be performed by using one of the following methods.
| Initializing with the GTS | Initializing with the spoiler control switch | Initializing by driving the vehicle | Forced initialization | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| When the active rear wing assembly has been removed/installed or replaced | ○ | - | - | ○ |
| When the spoiler control ECU assembly has been replaced with a new one | ○ | ○ | ○ | - |
| When the spoiler control ECU assembly has been replaced with one from another vehicle | ○ | - | - | ○ |
| When the active rear wing has been stopped during operation | ○ | ○ | ○ | - |
| When the active rear wing can be operated by manual and automatic operation but the active rear wing assembly position stored in the spoiler control ECU assembly and actual active rear wing position do not match | ○ | - | - | ○ |
Initializing with the GTS
Connect the GTS to the DLC3.
Turn the power switch on (IG).
Turn the GTS on.
Enter following menus: Body Electrical / Active Rear Wing / Utility.
| Tester Display |
|---|
| Rear Wing Zero Point Calibration |
According to the GTS display perform initialization.
After initialization is complete, check the rise and retract operations of the active rear wing.
Initializing with the spoiler control switch
Note
Check that the active rear wing system customize setting "Active Rear Wing Control" is set to "Permission" before performing the following procedure.
Turn the power switch on (IG).
Press the spoiler control switch to raise the active rear wing to the fully raised position.
Press and hold the spoiler control switch until the active rear wing reaches the fully retracted position. (Initialization complete)
Tech Tips
If the spoiler control switch is released before the active rear wing reaches the fully retracted position, the active rear wing will operate in the reverse direction and rise to the fully raised position.
After initialization is complete, check the rise and retract operations of the active rear wing.
Initializing by driving the vehicle
Note
Check that the active rear wing system customize setting "Active Rear Wing Control" is set to "Permission" before performing the following procedure.
When the active rear wing is in the fully raised position or fully retracted position
Turn the power switch on (READY).
Accelerate the vehicle to approximately 80 km/h (50 mph) or more*1 or approximately 130 km/h (81 mph) or more*2 to raise the active rear wing to the fully raised position.
*1: When not in ECO mode
*2: When in ECO mode
Decelerate the vehicle to below approximately 40 km/h (25 mph) to retract the active rear wing to the fully retracted position. (Initialization complete)
After initialization is complete, check the rise and retract operations of the active rear wing.
When the active rear wing has been stopped during operation
Turn the power switch on (READY).
Accelerate the vehicle to approximately 25 km/h (16 mph) or more to raise the active rear wing to the fully raised position.
Accelerate the vehicle to approximately 40 km/h (25 mph) or more.
Decelerate the vehicle to below approximately 40 km/h (25 mph) to retract the active rear wing to the fully retracted position. (Initialization complete)
After initialization is complete, check the rise and retract operations of the active rear wing.
Forced initialization
Note
Check that the active rear wing system customize setting "Active Rear Wing Control" is set to "Permission" before performing the following procedure.
Check that initialization has completed before performing forced initialization.
Turn the power switch on (IG).
Press and hold the spoiler control switch until the active rear wing completes the following operations:
Retract to the fully retracted position → pause for approximately 10 seconds → rise to the fully raised position (Forced initialization complete)
After forced initialization is complete, check the rise and retract operations of the active rear wing.
