VEHICLE APPROACHING SPEAKER SWITCH INSPECTION

PROCEDURE

1. INSPECT NO. 3 COMBINATION SWITCH ASSEMBLY (VEHICLE APPROACHING SPEAKER SWITCH)

   
   

   1. Remove the No. 3 Combination Switch Assembly (Vehicle Approaching Speaker Switch).

      Click here

   2. Check the resistance.

      
      
      1. 

         *1	Indicator
         *a	Component without harness connected (No. 3 Combination Switch Assembly (Vehicle Approaching Speaker Switch))

         Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

         Standard Resistance
         Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition 4 (IG) - 14 (ECU) Switch off 10 kΩ or higher Switch on Below 1 Ω

         Tech Tips

         If the result is not as specified, replace the No. 3 Combination Switch Assembly (Vehicle Approaching Speaker Switch).

   3. Inspect the indicator operation.

      
      

      1. Apply auxiliary battery voltage to the vehicle approaching speaker switch connector, and check that the vehicle approaching speaker switch indicator illuminates.

         OK
         Measurement Condition Specified Condition Auxiliary battery positive (+) → 4 (IG) Auxiliary battery positive (-) → 2 (IND) Illuminates

         Tech Tips

         If the result is not as specified, replace the No. 3 Combination Switch Assembly (Vehicle Approaching Speaker Switch).

   4. Inspect the illumination operation.

      
      

      1. Apply auxiliary battery voltage to the vehicle approaching speaker switch connector, and check that the vehicle approaching speaker switch LED illuminates.

         OK
         Measurement Condition Specified Condition Auxiliary battery positive (+) → Terminal 7 (ILL+) Auxiliary battery negative (-) → Terminal 12 (ILL-) LED illuminates

         Tech Tips

         If the result is not as specified, replace the No. 3 Combination Switch Assembly (Vehicle Approaching Speaker Switch).

   5. Install the No. 3 Combination Switch Assembly (Vehicle Approaching Speaker Switch).
