B1373 Lost Communication with Wiper System LIN BUS

DESCRIPTION

The main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) communicates with the windshield wiper motor assembly, windshield wiper switch assembly and rain sensor via LIN communication. If a malfunction occurs in the LIN communication line and a communication error occurs, this DTC is stored.

    DTC Detection Condition:

  • Power switch on (IG) (IG+ voltage 9.5 V or higher)


    Malfunction Status:

  • Wire-type LIN communication error detected


    Malfunction Duration:

  • 7 seconds or more

  • Windshield wiper motor assembly

  • Wiper motor wire

  • Rain sensor

  • Harness or connector

  • Main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU)

PROCEDURE


  1. CHECK FOR DTC


    1. Clear the DTCs.

      Click here


      Body Electrical > Main Body > Clear DTCs

    2. Turn the power switch on (IG) and wait for at least 10 seconds.

    3. Check for DTCs.

      DTC B1373 is not output

  2. CHECK RAIN SENSOR


    1. Disconnect the Z8*1 or a4*2 rain sensor connector.


      • *1: w/ Pre-collision System

      • *2: w/o Pre-collision System

    2. Clear the DTCs.

      Body Electrical > Main Body > Clear DTCs

    3. Turn the power switch on (IG) and wait for at least 10 seconds.

    4. Check for DTCs.

  3. CHECK WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR ASSEMBLY


    1. Disconnect the u1 windshield wiper motor assembly connector.

    2. Clear the DTCs.

    3. Turn the power switch on (IG) and wait for at least 10 seconds.

    4. Check for DTCs.

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (MAIN BODY ECU [MULTIPLEX NETWORK BODY ECU] - RAIN SENSOR)


    1. Disconnect the P8 main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) connector.

    2. Disconnect the Z8*1 or a4*2 rain sensor connector.


      • *1: w/ Pre-collision System

      • *2: w/o Pre-collision System

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

    1. Disconnect the P8 main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) connector.

    2. Disconnect the u1 windshield wiper motor assembly connector.

    3. Disconnect the Z8*1 or a4*2 rain sensor connector.


      • *1: w/ Pre-collision System

      • *2: w/o Pre-collision System

    4. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

    1. Disconnect the P8 main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) connector.

    2. Disconnect the Au1 wiper motor wire connector.

    3. Disconnect the Z8*1 or a4*2 rain sensor connector.


      • *1: w/ Pre-collision System

      • *2: w/o Pre-collision System

    4. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
