WIPER AND WASHER SYSTEM Washer Motor Circuit

DESCRIPTION

When the windshield washer motor and pump assembly receives signals from the windshield wiper switch assembly (washer switch) it operates to spray washer fluid from the washer nozzle sub-assemblies.

  1. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING GTS


    1. Perform the Active Test according to the display on the GTS.

  2. INSPECT WINDSHIELD WASHER MOTOR AND PUMP ASSEMBLY


    1. Disconnect the A15 windshield washer motor and pump assembly connector.

    2. Inspect the windshield washer motor and pump assembly.

  3. INSPECT WIPER MOTOR WIRE

      Remove the wiper motor wire.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      for LHD

      A-4 (WSR+) - B-4 Always Below 1 Ω
      A-3 (WSR-) - B-3 Always Below 1 Ω
      A-1 (GND) - B-1 Always Below 1 Ω
      A-8 (FAWB) - B-8 Always Below 1 Ω

      A-1 (WSR+) - B-1 Always Below 1 Ω

    1. Disconnect the A15 windshield washer motor and pump assembly connector.

    2. Disconnect the Au1 wiper motor wire connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      for LHD
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A15-1 (B) - Au1-4 Always Below 1 Ω
      A15-2 (SW) - Au1-3 Always Below 1 Ω
      A15-1 (B) or Au1-4 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      A15-2 (SW) or Au1-3 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      for RHD
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A15-1 (B) - Au1-1 Always Below 1 Ω
      A15-2 (SW) - Au1-2 Always Below 1 Ω

    3. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.
