Tech Tips


  • Use the same procedure for the RH side and LH side.

  • The following procedure is for the LH side.

  • Centering bolts are used to mount the door hinge to the vehicle body and door. The door cannot be adjusted with the centering bolts installed. Substitute the centering bolts with standard bolts when making adjustments.

  • Specified torque for standard bolts is shown in the standard bolt chart.

PROCEDURE


  1. INSPECT FRONT DOOR LH


    1. Check that the clearance measurements of areas A to G are within the standard ranges.

      A 2.0 to 5.0 mm (0.079 to 0.197 in.) B -1.5 to 1.5 mm (-0.059 to 0.059 in.)
      C 2.0 to 5.0 mm (0.079 to 0.197 in.) D -1.5 to 1.5 mm (-0.059 to 0.059 in.)
      E 3.5 to 6.5 mm (0.138 to 0.256 in.) F 2.0 to 5.0 mm (0.079 to 0.197 in.)
      G -1.5 to 1.5 mm (-0.059 to 0.059 in.) - -
  2. ADJUST FRONT DOOR LH

    Note

    Make sure to turn the power switch off before adjusting the door lock strikers.


    1. B000TBC

      Using SST, loosen the hinge bolts on the body and adjust the door position.

    2. Tighten the hinge bolts on the body after the adjustment.

      Torque:
      32.5 N*m  { 331 kgf*cm, 24 ft.*lbf }
    3. Loosen the hinge bolts on the door and adjust the door position.

    4. Tighten the hinge bolts on the door after the adjustment.

      Torque:
      26 N*m  { 265 kgf*cm, 19 ft.*lbf }
    5. B000QUA

      Detach the claws and remove the front door lock striker cover.

    6. B000TK0

      Using a T40 "TORX" socket, adjust the striker position by slightly loosening the striker mounting screws and hitting the striker with a brass bar and hammer.

      Torque:
      23 N*m  { 235 kgf*cm, 17 ft.*lbf }
    7. B000QUA

      Attach the claws to install the front door lock striker cover.
