HOOD LOCK CONTROL CABLE ASSEMBLY INSTALLATION

Tech Tips


  • Use the same procedure as for the LHD and RHD vehicles.

  • The procedure listed below is for the LHD vehicles.

PROCEDURE


  1. INSTALL HOOD LOCK CONTROL CABLE ASSEMBLY


    1. Tie the string that was passed through the engine compartment to the end of the hood lock control cable assembly.

    2. for LHD:


      1. B004CFDC01
        *1 Hood Lock Control Cable Assembly
        *2 Wire Harness Grommet

        Pass the hood lock control cable assembly through the wire harness grommet as shown in the illustration.

      2. Disconnect the string from the hood lock control cable assembly.

        *1 Hood Lock Control Cable Assembly
        *2 Grommet

        Attach clamps to install the grommet and hood lock control cable assembly.

    3. for RHD:


      1. B004B9AC01
        *1 Hood Lock Control Cable Assembly
        *2 Wire Harness Grommet

        Pass the hood lock control cable assembly through the wire harness grommet as shown in the illustration.

      2. Disconnect the string from the hood lock control cable assembly.

        *1 Hood Lock Control Cable Assembly
        *2 Grommet

        Attach clamps to install the grommet and hood lock control cable assembly.

  2. INSTALL HOOD LOCK ASSEMBLY


    1. Apply MP grease to the sliding areas of the hood lock assembly.

    2. Connect the hood lock control cable assembly and hood control assembly.

    3. Install the hood lock assembly with the 3 bolts.

      Torque:
      8.0 N*m  { 82 kgf*cm, 71 in.*lbf }

    4. Connect the connector.

  3. INSTALL HOOD LOCK CONTROL CABLE COVER LH (for LHD)


    1. Attach the clamps to install the hood lock control cable cover LH.

  4. INSTALL HOOD LOCK CONTROL CABLE COVER RH (for RHD)


    1. Attach the clamps to install the hood lock control cable cover RH.

  5. INSTALL HOOD LOCK RELEASE LEVER PROTECTOR


    1. Attach the clamp to install the hood lock release lever protector with the 2 clips.

  6. INSTALL HOOD LOCK CONTROL LEVER SUB-ASSEMBLY


    1. Connect the hood lock control cable assembly to install the hood lock control lever sub-assembly.

    2. Attach the claws to install the hood lock control lever sub-assembly.

  7. INSTALL NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY

  8. INSTALL FRONT FENDER REINFORCEMENT TOP SUB-ASSEMBLY LH (for LHD)

  9. INSTALL FRONT FENDER REINFORCEMENT TOP SUB-ASSEMBLY RH (for RHD)
