GENERAL
The windshield deicer thin heater wires are attached to the inside of the windshield glass to help deice the window surface more quickly. When the system is operating, the windshield deicer switch indicator light illuminates on the air conditioning screen of the multi-display. The system automatically turns off after approximately 15 minutes.
Note
If the auxiliary battery voltage becomes low, windshield deicer operation is canceled to prioritize supplying power to the power steering system.
FUNCTION OF MAIN COMPONENT
| Component | Outline |
|---|---|
| Remote Operation Controller Assembly (Remote Touch) | Operate the display screen on the multi-display. When operated, the operation information is sent to the radio receiver assembly using the local bus communication line. |
| Multi-display | Displays the functions controlled by the air conditioning amplifier assembly. |
| Radio Receiver Assembly | When the air conditioning amplifier assembly receives these commands, it uses the GVIF cable to display on the multi-display. Sends windshield deicer switch operation information to the air conditioning amplifier assembly using the CAN communication line. |
| Air Conditioning Amplifier Assembly | Uses the CAN communication line to send commands to the radio receiver assembly to display the functions controlled by the air conditioning amplifier assembly on the multi-display. Sends windshield deicer activation request signals to the windshield deicer relay assembly (DEICER). |
| Windshield Deicer Relay Assembly (DEICER) | Receives windshield deicer activation request signals from the air conditioning amplifier assembly and supplies power to the windshield deicer wire (windshield glass). |
| Windshield Glass (Windshield Deicer Wire) | Receives power from the windshield deicer relay assembly (DEICER) and heats the windshield deicer. |
