SMOG VENTILATION SENSOR INSPECTION

PROCEDURE


  1. INSPECT SMOG VENTILATION SENSOR


    1. Check resistance (CO, HC)


      1. Connect an auxiliary battery positive (+) lead to terminal 1 (IG) and an auxiliary battery negative (-) lead to terminal 5 (E).

      2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

        Standard Resistance
        Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
        3 (DGS) - 4 (SG) Blowing clean air with temperature at 20°C and 65% humidity 5 to 80 kΩ

        If the result is not as specified, replace the smog ventilation sensor.

    2. Check resistance (NOx)


      1. Connect an auxiliary battery positive (+) lead to terminal 1 (IG) and an auxiliary battery negative (-) lead to terminal 5 (E).

      2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

        Standard Resistance
        Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
        2 (DGS1) - 4 (SG) Blowing clean air with temperature at 20°C and 65% humidity 1.25 to 80 kΩ

        If the result is not as specified, replace the smog ventilation sensor.
