POP UP HOOD LIFTER(for Front Side) ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION

CAUTION:

Be sure to correctly follow the removal and installation procedures for the pop up hood lifter assemblies.

PROCEDURE


  1. INSPECT POP UP HOOD LIFTER ASSEMBLY LH (for Vehicle not Involved in Collision)


    1. Perform a diagnostic system check.

    2. Visually check for defects with the pop up hood lifter assembly installed on the vehicle.

      Tech Tips

      The defects are as follows:


      • Cracks on the cylinder

      • Dents on the cylinder

      • Chips on the cylinder

      • Cracks or other damage to the connector

      OK
      No defects are found.

      If any defects are found, replace the pop up hood lifter assembly with a new one.

  2. INSPECT POP UP HOOD LIFTER ASSEMBLY LH (for Vehicle Involved in Collision and Pop Up Hood Lifter not Deployed)


    1. Perform a diagnostic system check.

    2. Visually check for defects with the pop up hood lifter assembly removed from the vehicle.

      Tech Tips

      The defects are as follows:


      • Cracks on the cylinder

      • Dents on the cylinder

      • Chips on the cylinder

      • Cracks or other damage to the connector

      • Deformation or cracks on the pop up hood lifter assembly bracket

      OK
      No defects are found.

      If any defects are found, replace the pop up hood lifter assembly with a new one.
