LIGHT CONTROL RHEOSTAT INSPECTION

PROCEDURE


  1. INSPECT LIGHT CONTROL RHEOSTAT (TRIP SWITCH) (for LHD)


    1. Check the resistance.


      1. B000ONOC01
        *1 Up switch
        *2 Down switch
        *a

        Component without harness connected

        (Light Control Rheostat (Trip Switch))

        Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

        Standard Resistance
        Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
        5(RV) - 7(E) Up switch pressed Below 1 Ω
        5(RV) - 7(E) Up switch not pressed 10 kΩ or higher
        5(RV) - 7(E) Down switch pressed 1.7 to 1.8 kΩ
        5(RV) - 7(E) Down switch not pressed 10 kΩ or higher

        If the result is not as specified, replace the light control rheostat (trip switch).

    2. Check illumination.

        Component without harness connected

        (Light Control Rheostat (Trip Switch))

        Apply auxiliary battery voltage to the light control rheostat (trip switch) and check that it illuminates.

        OK
        Condition Specified Condition

        Auxiliary battery positive (+) → Terminal 3 (ILL+)

        Auxiliary battery negative (-) → Terminal 8 (ILL-)

        Illuminates

        If the result is not as specified, replace the light control rheostat (trip switch).

  2. INSPECT LIGHT CONTROL RHEOSTAT (TRIP SWITCH) (for RHD)


    1. Check the resistance.


      1. B000SLZC05
        *1 Up switch
        *2 Down switch
        *a

        Component without harness connected

        (Light Control Rheostat (Trip Switch))

        Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

        Standard Resistance
        Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
        5(RV) - 7(E) Up switch pressed Below 1 Ω
        5(RV) - 7(E) Up switch not pressed 10 kΩ or higher
        5(RV) - 7(E) Down switch pressed 1.7 to 1.8 kΩ
        5(RV) - 7(E) Down switch not pressed 10 kΩ or higher

        If the result is not as specified, replace the light control rheostat (trip switch).

    2. Check illumination.

        *a

        Component without harness connected

        (Light Control Rheostat (Trip Switch))

        Apply auxiliary battery voltage to the light control rheostat (trip switch) and check that it illuminates.

        OK
        Condition Specified Condition

        Auxiliary battery positive (+) → Terminal 3 (ILL+)

        Auxiliary battery negative (-) → Terminal 8 (ILL-)

        Illuminates

        If the result is not as specified, replace the light control rheostat (trip switch).
