    Perform this inspection with the door switch of the map light assembly on.

    Lights Controlled by Illuminated Entry System
    Control Condition Lights that Operate
    Actuation Area-linked With the power switch off and all of the doors closed and locked, enter an exterior detection area while carrying an electrical key transmitter and check that the lights that operate turn on for approximately 15 seconds and then turn off.
    • Map light sub-assembly (front dome light)

    • Front door trim board sub-assembly (door ambient illumination light)

    • Multi-display (interior illumination light assembly)

    • No. 1 interior illumination light assembly (footwell light)

    Door Lock/Unlock-linked With the power switch off and all of the doors closed and locked, unlock either front door using an unlock operation (key-linked, wireless or entry unlock operation) and check that the lights that operate turn on for 15 seconds and then turn off.
    • Map light sub-assembly (front dome light)

    • Front door trim board sub-assembly (door ambient illumination light)

    • Multi-display (interior illumination light assembly)

    • No. 1 interior illumination light assembly (footwell light)

    Door Open/Close-linked With the power switch off and all of the doors closed, open either front door and check that the lights that operate turn on (IG). While the lights that operate are on, close all of the doors and check that the lights that operate turn off after approximately 15 seconds.

    • No. 1 interior illumination light assembly (footwell light)

    With the power switch off and all the doors closed, open the front door and check that the blinking interval for the lights listed on the right slows down. After this, check that the blinking interval for the lights listed on the right quickens when the brake pedal is depressed. Power switch illumination
    With the power switch on (IG), open either front door and check that the lights that operate turn on. While the lights that operate are on, close all of the doors and check that the lights that operate turn off. Map light sub-assembly (front dome light)
    Power Switch-linked Turn the power switch from on (ACC) or on (IG) to off and check that the lights that operate turn on for approximately 15 seconds and then turn off.

    Turn the power switch on (ACC) or on (IG) and check that the lights that operate turn on.
    • Front door trim board sub-assembly (door ambient illumination light)

    • Power switch illumination

    • No. 1 interior illumination light assembly (footwell light)

    Turn the power switch from on (ACC) or on (IG) to off and check that the lights that operate turn off.

    Check that the blinking interval for the lights listed on the right slows down when the power switch is turned from on (ACC) or on (IG) to off. Power switch illumination
    Shift position-linked With the power switch on (READY), move the shift lever from P to any other position and check that the lights that operate dim. While the lights that operate are on, move the shift lever to P and check that the lights that operate return to full brightness.

  2. INSPECT BATTERY SAVING CONTROL OPERATION


    1. The operations and conditions of this control are described below.

      Control Condition Lights that Operate
      Basic operation

      When 20 minutes elapse after the power switch is turned from on (ACC or IG) to off and the lights that operate remain on, the lights are turned off.

      Tech Tips

      Battery saving control is canceled when any of the following operations is performed before the lights are turned off by battery saving control. After the operation is performed, the lights remain on for another 20 minutes and then the lights are turned off.


      • The power switch is turned on (ACC or IG).

      • Any door is opened and closed.

      • The luggage compartment door is opened and closed.

      • Any door is unlocked.

      • The key enters any exterior actuation area.

      Interior light auto cut operation

      When 20 minutes elapse after the power switch is turned from on (ACC or IG) to off and the lights that operate remain on, the lights are turned off.

      Tech Tips
