DESCRIPTION

The front center ultrasonic sensor (front right center sensor) is installed on the front bumper. The clearance warning ECU assembly detects obstacles based on signals received from the front center ultrasonic sensor (front right center sensor). If the front center ultrasonic sensor (front right center sensor) has an open circuit or other malfunction, it will not function normally.

Note

If DTCs are output after repairs, turn the power switch on (IG) and the LEXUS parking assist-sensor system on. Then clear the DTCs.

PROCEDURE


  1. INSPECT FRONT CENTER ULTRASONIC SENSOR (FRONT RIGHT CENTER SENSOR)


    1. Remove the front center ultrasonic sensor (front right center sensor).

    2. Inspect the front center ultrasonic sensor (front right center sensor).

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (FRONT CENTER ULTRASONIC SENSOR [FRONT RIGHT CENTER SENSOR] - CLEARANCE WARNING ECU ASSEMBLY)


    1. Disconnect the D3 front center ultrasonic sensor (front right center sensor) connector.

    2. Disconnect the X12 clearance warning ECU assembly connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      D3-1 (E) - X12-24 (E7) Always Below 1 Ω
      D3-2 (S) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
