DESCRIPTION

The front corner ultrasonic sensor (front right sensor) is installed on the front bumper. The clearance warning ECU assembly detects obstacles based on signals received from the front corner ultrasonic sensor (front right sensor). If the front corner ultrasonic sensor (front right sensor) has an open circuit or other malfunction, it will not function normally.

Note

If DTCs are output after repairs, turn the power switch on (IG) and the LEXUS parking assist-sensor system on. Then clear the DTCs.

PROCEDURE


  1. INSPECT FRONT CORNER ULTRASONIC SENSOR (FRONT RIGHT SENSOR)


    1. Remove the front corner ultrasonic sensor (front right sensor).

    2. Inspect the front corner ultrasonic sensor (front right sensor).

    REPLACE FRONT CORNER ULTRASONIC SENSOR (FRONT RIGHT SENSOR) Click here

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (FRONT CORNER ULTRASONIC SENSOR [FRONT RIGHT SENSOR] - CLEARANCE WARNING ECU ASSEMBLY)


    1. Disconnect the D2 front corner ultrasonic sensor (front right sensor) connector.

    2. Disconnect the X12 clearance warning ECU assembly connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      D2-2 (S) - X12-19 (S5) Always Below 1 Ω
      D2-1 (E) - X12-20 (E5) Always Below 1 Ω
      D2-2 (S) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      D2-1 (E) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
