DESCRIPTION

The rear center ultrasonic sensor (rear right center sensor) is installed on the front bumper. The clearance warning ECU assembly detects obstacles based on signals received from the rear center ultrasonic sensor (rear right center sensor). If the rear center ultrasonic sensor (rear right center sensor) has an open circuit or other malfunction, it will not function normally.

Note

If DTCs are output after repairs, turn the power switch on (IG) and the LEXUS parking assist-sensor system on. Then clear the DTCs.

PROCEDURE


  1. INSPECT REAR CENTER ULTRASONIC SENSOR (REAR RIGHT CENTER SENSOR)


    1. Remove the rear center ultrasonic sensor (rear right center sensor).

    2. Inspect the rear center ultrasonic sensor (rear right center sensor).

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (REAR CENTER ULTRASONIC SENSOR [REAR RIGHT CENTER SENSOR] - CLEARANCE WARNING ECU ASSEMBLY)


    1. Disconnect the c2 rear center ultrasonic sensor (rear right center sensor) connector.

    2. Disconnect the X12 clearance warning ECU assembly connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      c2-2 (S) - X12-6 (S3) Always Below 1 Ω
      c2-1 (E) - X12-7 (E3) Always Below 1 Ω
      c2-2 (S) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
