REAR SPEED SENSOR INSTALLATION

CAUTION / NOTICE / HINT

Tech Tips

  • Use the same procedure for the RH side and LH side.

  • The following procedure is for the LH side.

Note

While the battery is connected, even if the power switch is off, the brake control system activates when the brake pedal is depressed or the door courtesy switch turns on. Therefore during servicing of the brake system components, do not operate the brake pedal and open/close the doors while the battery is connected.

PROCEDURE

  1. INSTALL REAR SPEED SENSOR LH

    1. B000TL3

      Install the rear speed sensor LH with the bolt.

      Torque:
      8.5 N*m  { 87 kgf*cm, 75 in.*lbf }

      Note

      • The rear speed sensor is easily damaged. When installing the rear speed sensor to the rear axle hub LH, do not use excessive force to rotate and install it.

      • Prevent foreign matter from attaching to the sensor tip.

      • Do not drop the sensor. If the sensor has been dropped, replace the sensor with a new one.

  2. INSTALL SKID CONTROL SENSOR WIRE

    1. B004B84

      for LH Side:

      1. Install the sensor clamp with the bolt.

        Torque:
        8.5 N*m  { 87 kgf*cm, 75 in.*lbf }

        Note

        Do not twist the skid control sensor wire.

      2. Connect the speed sensor connector to the rear speed sensor LH.

    2. B004B8S

      for RH Side:

      1. Install the sensor clamp with the bolt.

        Torque:

        Note

        Do not twist the skid control sensor wire.

      2. Connect the speed sensor connector to the rear speed sensor RH.

      3. Connect the pad wear indicator connector.

    3. B000P9J

      Install the 3 sensor clamps with the 3 nuts.

      Torque:
      6.0 N*m  { 61 kgf*cm, 53 in.*lbf }

      Note

      Do not twist the skid control sensor wire.

    4. Connect the rear height control sensor connector.
