FRONT SPEED SENSOR INSTALLATION

CAUTION / NOTICE / HINT

Note

While the battery is connected, even if the power switch is off, the brake control system activates when the brake pedal is depressed or the door courtesy switch turns on. Therefore during servicing of the brake system components, do not operate the brake pedal and open/close the doors while the battery is connected.

Tech Tips


  • Use the same procedure for the RH side and LH side.

  • The following procedure is for the LH side.

  • If the front speed sensor rotor needs to be replaced, replace the front axle hub sub-assembly.

PROCEDURE


  1. INSTALL FRONT AXLE HUB SUB-ASSEMBLY LH


    1. Install the front axle hub sub-assembly LH.

      Tech Tips

      The front speed sensor is a component of the front axle hub sub-assembly. If the front speed sensor malfunctions, replace the front axle hub sub-assembly.

  2. INSTALL FRONT DISC LH

  3. INSTALL FRONT DISC BRAKE CYLINDER ASSEMBLY LH

  4. INSTALL FRONT SKID CONTROL SENSOR WIRE


    1. B004CUD

      for LH Side:


      1. Install the sensor clamp with the bolt.

        Torque:
        10 N*m  { 102 kgf*cm, 7 ft.*lbf }

        Note

        Do not twist the skid control sensor wire when installing it.

      2. Connect the skid control sensor wire connector.

      for RH Side:


      1. Install the sensor clamp with the bolt.

        Torque:
        10 N*m  { 102 kgf*cm, 7 ft.*lbf }

        Note

        Do not twist the skid control sensor wire when installing it.

      2. Connect the skid control sensor wire connector.

      3. Connect the pad wear indicator connector.

      Install the sensor clamp with the nut.

      Torque:
      8.5 N*m  { 87 kgf*cm, 75 in.*lbf }
    4. B000T2A

      Install the sensor clamp with the bolt.

      Torque:
      8.5 N*m  { 87 kgf*cm, 75 in.*lbf }

      Note

      Do not twist the skid control sensor wire when installing it.

    5. Connect the skid control sensor wire connector.

  5. INSTALL FRONT WHEEL

  6. CONNECT BRAKE BOOSTER PUMP CONNECTOR


    1. With the power switch off, connect the 2 brake booster pump connectors.

    2. Clear the DTCs.
