ADAPTIVE VARIABLE SUSPENSION SYSTEM SYSTEM DESCRIPTION

  1. ADAPTIVE VARIABLE SUSPENSION SYSTEM DESCRIPTION

    1. The absorber control ECU receives signals from the sensors and switches to control the absorber control actuator (shock absorber assembly). It uses these signals to optimally control the damping force in accordance with the driving conditions and road conditions.

    Function of Components:
    Component Function
Shock absorber assembly Absorber control actuator Changes the damping force.
Front acceleration sensor RH Detects the vertical acceleration of the right front area of the vehicle body.
Front acceleration sensor LH Detects the vertical acceleration of the left front area of the vehicle body.
Height control sensor sub-assembly Detects the vehicle height.
Absorber control ECU Rear acceleration sensor
    • Controls the damping force.

    • When changed to diagnostic mode, indicates any malfunction by outputting DTCs (Diagnostic Trouble Codes).

    • Detects the rear vehicle body vertical acceleration.

Yaw rate sensor G sensor Detects the vehicle's longitudinal and lateral acceleration and deceleration.
Steering sensor Detects the steering direction and the angle of the steering wheel.
    Skid control ECU assembly
    • Sends the vehicle speed signal to the absorber control ECU.

    • Sends the brake pedal depressed signal to the absorber control ECU.

    • Makes a request for damping force control to the absorber control ECU.

    Hybrid vehicle control ECU assembly
    • Sends the drive torque signal to the absorber control ECU.

    • Sends the driving mode selected using the drive mode select switch (combination switch assembly) to the absorber control ECU.

Driving support ECU assembly Sends the damping force cooperative control signal to the absorber control ECU.
Combination switch assembly Drive mode select switch Switches the driving mode.
Combination meter assembly Indicates the selected condition of the drive mode select switch (combination switch assembly).
