COMBINATION SWITCH INSPECTION

PROCEDURE

  1. INSPECT COMBINATION SWITCH ASSEMBLY

    1. B000RRIC04
      *a

      Component without harness connected

      (Combination Switch Assembly)

Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
4 (P) - 1 (GND) Combination switch assembly knob turned and held at S/S+ position Below 10 Ω
4 (P) - 1 (GND) Combination switch assembly knob not turned to S/S+ position 10 kΩ or higher
      6 (B) - 1 (GND) Normal/Custom mode switch pushed and held Below 10 Ω
      6 (B) - 1 (GND) Normal/Custom mode switch not pushed 10 kΩ or higher
7 (ECU) - 1 (GND) Combination switch assembly knob turned and held at Comf/Eco position Below 10 Ω
7 (ECU) - 1 (GND) Combination switch assembly knob not turned to Comf/Eco position 10 kΩ or higher

If the result is not as specified, replace the combination switch assembly.

    2. Apply battery voltage between the terminals of the combination switch assembly, and check the illumination condition of the combination switch assembly.

      Standard
      Measurement Condition Specified Condition

      Battery positive (+) → 8 (ILL+)

      Battery negative (-) → 5 (ILL-)

      Illuminates

If the result is not as specified, replace the combination switch assembly.

  2. INSPECT NO. 2 COMBINATION SWITCH ASSEMBLY

    1. B000Q91C04
      *a

      Component without harness connected

      (No. 2 Combination Switch Assembly)

Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
9 (SNSW) - 1 (E) No. 2 combination switch assembly knob turned and held at SNOW position Below 10 Ω
9 (SNSW) - 1 (E) No. 2 combination switch assembly knob not turned to SNOW position 10 kΩ or higher

If the result is not as specified, replace the No. 2 combination switch assembly.

    2. Apply battery voltage between the terminals of the No. 2 combination switch assembly, and check the illumination condition of the No. 2 combination switch assembly.

      Standard
      Measurement Condition Specified Condition

      Battery positive (+) → 10 (ILL+)

      Battery negative (-) → 6 (ILL-)

      Illuminates

If the result is not as specified, replace the No. 2 combination switch assembly.
