ELECTRONIC SHIFT LEVER SYSTEM Shift Sensor Circuit

PROCEDURE


  1. CHECK DTC OUTPUT (HYBRID CONTROL)


    1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the power switch on (READY).

    3. With the brake pedal depressed, slowly move the shift lever as follows: N → R → N → D → M.

      Tech Tips

      Wait with the shift lever in each position for 5 seconds or more.

    4. Push the P position switch (shift position indicator) to select park (P).

    5. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Hybrid Control / Trouble Codes.


      Powertrain > Hybrid Control > Trouble Codes
    6. Check if DTCs are output.

      Result
      Result Proceed to
      None of the DTCs are output. A
      Any of the DTCs are output. B
    7. Turn the power switch off.

  2. CHECK DIAGNOSIS RELATED INFORMATION (HYBRID CONTROL)


    1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).

    3. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Hybrid Control / Utility / Diagnosis Related Information.


      Powertrain > Hybrid Control > Utility

      Diagnosis Related Information
    4. Check for diagnosis related information.

      Result

    5. Turn the engine switch off.

  3. CHECK CONNECTOR CONNECTION CONDITION (SHIFT CONTROL ECU CONNECTOR)


    1. Check the connector connections and contact pressure of the relevant terminals for the shift control ECU connectors.

  4. CHECK CONNECTOR CONNECTION CONDITION (SHIFT LEVER POSITION SENSOR (TRANSMISSION FLOOR SHIFT ASSEMBLY))


    1. Check the connector connections and contact pressure of the relevant terminals for the shift lever position sensor (transmission floor shift assembly) connector.

  5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SHIFT CONTROL ECU - SHIFT LEVER POSITION SENSOR (TRANSMISSION FLOOR SHIFT ASSEMBLY))


    1. Disconnect the P75 shift control ECU connector.

    2. Disconnect the P76 shift lever position sensor (transmission floor shift assembly) connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance (Check for Open)
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      P75-20 (VCX1) - P76-4 (VCX1) Always Below 1 Ω
      P75-22 (VCX2) - P76-12 (VCX2) Always Below 1 Ω
      P75-19 (VSI1) - P76-7 (VSX1) Always Below 1 Ω
      P75-21 (VSI2) - P76-5 (VSX2) Always Below 1 Ω
      P75-23 (VSI3) - P76-11 (VSX3) Always Below 1 Ω
      P75-25 (VSI4) - P76-9 (VSX4) Always Below 1 Ω
      P75-24 (E2X1) - P76-14 (E2X1) Always Below 1 Ω
      P75-26 (E2X2) - P76-2 (E2X2) Always Below 1 Ω
      Standard Resistance (Check for Short)

      P75-20 (VCX1) or P76-4 (VCX1) - Body ground and other terminals Always 10 kΩ or higher
      P75-22 (VCX2) or P76-12 (VCX2) - Body ground and other terminals Always 10 kΩ or higher
      P75-19 (VSI1) or P76-7 (VSX1) - Body ground and other terminals Always 10 kΩ or higher
      P75-21 (VSI2) or P76-5 (VSX2) - Body ground and other terminals Always 10 kΩ or higher
      P75-23 (VSI3) or P76-11 (VSX3) - Body ground and other terminals Always 10 kΩ or higher
      P75-25 (VSI4) or P76-9 (VSX4) - Body ground and other terminals Always 10 kΩ or higher
      P75-24 (E2X1) or P76-14 (E2X1) - Body ground and other terminals Always 10 kΩ or higher
      P75-26 (E2X2) or P76-2 (E2X2) - Body ground and other terminals Always 10 kΩ or higher
    4. Reconnect the P76 shift lever position sensor (transmission floor shift assembly) connector.

    5. Reconnect the P75 shift control ECU connector.
