PCV VALVE INSPECTION

PROCEDURE


  1. INSPECT PCV VALVE


    1. Install a hose to the PCV valve.

    2. Check PCV valve operation.

        *b Air
        B004C4F Cylinder Head Cover Sub-assembly LH Side

        Blow air into the cylinder head cover sub-assembly LH side, and check that air passes through easily.

        CAUTION:

        Do not suck air through the PCV valve.

        Petroleum substances inside the PCV valve are hazardous to your health.

        If the result is not as specified, replace the PCV valve.

        *a Hose
        *b Air
        B004C4F Intake Air Surge Tank Assembly Side

        Blow air into the intake air surge tank assembly side, and check that air passes through with difficulty.

        CAUTION:

        Do not suck air through the PCV valve.

        Petroleum substances inside the PCV valve are hazardous to your health.

        If the result is not as specified, replace the PCV valve.

    3. Remove the hose from the PCV valve.
