NAVIGATION SYSTEM PRECAUTION


  1. PRECAUTION FOR DISCONNECTING CABLE FROM NEGATIVE AUXILIARY BATTERY TERMINAL

    Note

    After the power switch is turned off, the radio receiver assembly records various types of memory and settings. As a result, after turning the power switch off, be sure to wait for the time specified in the following table before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal.

  2. PRECAUTION FOR NAVIGATION SYSTEM

    Note


    • When replacing the radio receiver assembly or navigation ECU, always replace it with a new one.

      If a radio receiver assembly or navigation ECU which was installed to another vehicle is used, the following may occur:


      • A communication malfunction DTC may be stored.

      • The radio receiver assembly or navigation ECU may not operate normally.

    • When performing the following work, the navigation system may restart when turning the engine switch on (ACC) (due to radio receiver assembly and navigation ECU certification).


      • Repair or replace the negative (-) battery terminal due to it being disconnected or depleted.

      • The radio receiver assembly or navigation ECU replacement or removal and installation.

    • After replacing the radio receiver assembly, if the "New software is not compatible with the system. Contact your dealer." on-screen message is displayed on the multi-display, update the software of the navigation ECU.

    • After replacing the navigation ECU, if the "New software is not compatible with the system. Contact your dealer." on-screen message is displayed on the multi-display, update the software of the radio receiver assembly.

    • When replacing the telephone transceiver assembly, make sure to replace it with a new one. (w/ Telematics Transceiver)

  3. PRECAUTIONS FOR G-BOOK (w/ Telematics Transceiver)


    1. The navigation ECU functions as the G-BOOK device and holds the G-BOOK ID.

      When replacing the navigation ECU or telephone transceiver assembly, perform Vehicle Contract Setting.

    2. Necessary data for the telematics system is stored in the radio receiver assembly and navigation ECU.
