STEERING SYSTEM ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION

PROCEDURE

1. INSPECT STEERING WHEEL FREE PLAY

   
   

   1. Power switch on (READY) and make sure that the vehicle is in a state in which the power steering can operate.

   2. Stop the vehicle and position the front wheels straight ahead.

   3. Gently turn the steering wheel right and left, and check for steering wheel free play.

      Maximum Free Play
      30 mm (1.18 in.)

      Tech Tips

      If the free play exceeds the maximum, check the steering system.
