REAR BUMPER REMOVAL

Tech Tips

If the bumper is damaged, there is a possibility that the installation area of the blind spot monitor sensor may be deformed and the blind spot monitor system may not operate correctly, so visually inspect the blind spot monitor sensor installation area (frame, stud bolt) to make sure it is not dented or bent.

If the visual inspection finds a problem, check the installation condition of the blind spot monitor sensor, and adjust the installation position of the blind spot monitor sensor as necessary.

PROCEDURE


  1. REMOVE REAR COMBINATION LIGHT COVER LH


    1. B000XDNC01
      B000WCG Protective Tape

      Apply protective tape at the position as shown in the illustration.

    2. B000ZB4C03
      *a Moulding Remover B
      B000WYJ Remove in this Direction

      Using moulding remover B, detach the claws <A>.

    3. Detach the claws <B> and remove the rear combination light cover LH.

  2. REMOVE REAR COMBINATION LIGHT COVER RH

    Tech Tips

    Use the same procedure described for the LH side.

  3. REMOVE REAR BUMPER CENTER GUARD


    1. B000YUI

      for Type A:


      1. Remove the 2 screws.

      2. Detach the claws and remove the rear bumper center guard.

    2. B000UQD

      for Type B:


      1. Remove the 2 screws.

      2. Detach the claws and remove the rear bumper center guard.

    3. B000W0C

      for Type C:


      1. Remove the 2 screws.

      2. Detach the claws and remove the rear bumper center guard.

  4. REMOVE REAR BUMPER COVER


    1. B000TR5

      Remove the 4 screws.

    2. B000TSK

      Remove the 8 clips.

    3. B000WSO

      Remove the 2 screws.

    4. B000W80

      Fold back a part of edge of the rear fender liner, remove the screw and detach the claw and grommet.

      Tech Tips

      Use the same procedure for the RH and LH sides.

    5. B000UC2C02
      B000WYJ Remove in this Direction
      B000WCG Protective Tape

      Using a screwdriver with its tip wrapped with protective tape, detach the claw <A>.

      Tech Tips

      Use the same procedure for the RH and LH sides.

    6. Detach the claws <B>.

      Tech Tips

      Use the same procedure for the RH and LH sides.

    7. Detach the claws <C>.

      Tech Tips

      Use the same procedure for the RH and LH sides.

    8. Disconnect the connector and remove the rear bumper cover as shown in the illustration.
