FRONT WIPER OPERATION INSPECTION
Door Open Linked Wiper Suspend Function
Continuously apply water to the windshield glass in front of the rain sensor.
Turn the engine switch on (IG).
Move the windshield wiper switch assembly to the AUTO position and check that the front wipers begin to operate.
Open the driver door or front passenger door and check that the front wipers stop.
Service Position Control
Turn the engine switch off.
Within 45 seconds of turning the engine switch off, hold the windshield wiper switch assembly in the MIST position for 2 seconds and check that the front wipers move to the uppermost position.
AUTO Wiper Function
Continuously apply water to the windshield glass in front of the rain sensor.
Turn the engine switch on (IG).
Move the windshield wiper switch assembly to the AUTO position.
Check that the front wipers operate.
Check Intermittent Control Function
Tech Tips
When the AUTO wiper function is disabled through a customize setting, the intermittent control function can be operated.
Turn the engine switch on (IG).
Move the windshield wiper switch assembly to the AUTO position.
Check that the intermittent operation interval can be adjusted from approximately 4 to 12.5 seconds by operating the intermittent time adjustment switch.
Vehicle Speed Linked Wiper Control
Tech Tips
When the AUTO wiper function is disabled through a customize setting, the vehicle speed linked wiper control can be operated.
Turn the engine switch on (IG).
Move the windshield wiper switch assembly to the AUTO position.
Check that the intermittent operation interval changes from approximately 1.5 to 11 seconds according to the vehicle speed and the position of the intermittent time adjustment switch of the windshield wiper switch assembly.
WASHER OPERATION INSPECTION
Washer Control Function
Controls when the washer fluid is sprayed and stopped while windshield wiper switch assembly (washer switch) is turned on. In addition, the washer fluid spray time changes according to the vehicle speed and outside temperature.

If the windshield wiper switch assembly (washer switch) is on continuously for 40 seconds or more, the system determines a malfunction and the washer operation stops.
Turn the engine switch on (IG).
When windshield wiper switch assembly (washer switch) is on for approximately 0.3 seconds or more and the wiper operates for 1 round trip or less:
If the windshield wiper switch assembly (washer switch) is on for approximately 0.3 seconds or more, the wiper operates at a speed slower than LO after 0.5 seconds elapse. Check that the wiper operation is performed twice in LO after the windshield wiper switch assembly (washer switch) is turned off.
When windshield wiper switch assembly (washer switch) is on for longer than 1 round trip:
The wiper operation continues until the windshield wiper switch assembly (washer switch) is turned off. Check that the wiper operation is performs 3 times after the windshield wiper switch assembly (washer switch) is turned off.
Drip Prevention Wiper Function
Turn the engine switch on (IG).
With the vehicle stationary or while driving at a speed of less than approximately 4 km/h (2 mph), operate the windshield wiper switch assembly (washer switch) and, check that the front wipers operate for 1 cycle approximately 3 seconds after washer cooperation operation ends.
HEADLIGHT CLEANER OPERATION INSPECTION
The headlight cleaner operates as follows:

LEVEL WARNING OPERATION INSPECTION
When the volume of washer fluid decreases to below a certain level (when the level warning switch is turned on), the multi-information display warns the driver by displaying a message.
