HOOD LOCK CONTROL CABLE ASSEMBLY REMOVAL

  • Use the same procedure as for the LHD and RHD vehicles.

  • The procedure listed below is for the LHD vehicles.

PROCEDURE


  1. REMOVE RADIATOR SUPPORT TO FRAME SEAL RH

  2. REMOVE RADIATOR SUPPORT TO FRAME SEAL LH

  3. REMOVE LOWER RADIATOR AIR DEFLECTOR

  4. REMOVE FRONT FENDER REINFORCEMENT TOP SUB-ASSEMBLY LH (for LHD)

  5. REMOVE FRONT FENDER REINFORCEMENT TOP SUB-ASSEMBLY RH (for RHD)

    Tech Tips

    Use the same procedure described for the LH side.

  6. REMOVE NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY

  7. REMOVE HOOD LOCK CONTROL LEVER SUB-ASSEMBLY

      Detach the claws and remove the hood lock control lever sub-assembly.

    2. B000TRA

      Disconnect the hood lock control cable assembly to remove the hood lock control lever sub-assembly.

  8. REMOVE HOOD LOCK RELEASE LEVER PROTECTOR


    1. B000YOU

      Remove the 2 clips.

    2. Detach the clamp to remove the hood lock release lever protector.

  9. REMOVE HOOD LOCK CONTROL CABLE COVER LH (for LHD)

      Detach the clamps and remove the hood lock control cable cover LH.

  10. REMOVE HOOD LOCK CONTROL CABLE COVER RH (for RHD)

      Detach the clamps and remove the hood lock control cable cover RH.

  11. REMOVE HOOD LOCK ASSEMBLY


    1. B000WX3

      Disconnect the connector.

    2. Remove the 3 bolts and hood lock assembly.

    3. B000YGF

      for LHD:

      Disconnect the hood lock control cable assembly and hood lock control assembly to remove the hood lock assembly.

    4. B000UA0

      for RHD:

      Disconnect the hood lock control cable assembly and hood lock control assembly to remove the hood lock assembly.

  12. REMOVE HOOD LOCK CONTROL CABLE ASSEMBLY


    1. B000WWC

      Tie a string to the end of the hood lock control cable assembly.

      Tech Tips

      Use a length of string long enough to pass through the engine compartment.

    2. for LHD:

        *1 Hood Lock Control Cable Assembly
        *2 Wire Harness Grommet

        Pull out the hood lock control cable assembly through the wire harness grommet as shown in the illustration.

        Tech Tips

        Leave the string inside the grommet.

      2. Disconnect the string from the hood lock control cable assembly.

        *1 Hood Lock Control Cable Assembly
        *2 Grommet

        Using a screwdriver with its tip wrapped in protective tape, detach the clamps and remove the grommet and hood lock control cable assembly.

    3. for RHD:

        *1 Hood Lock Control Cable Assembly
        *2 Wire Harness Grommet

        Pull out the hood lock control cable assembly through the wire harness grommet as shown in the illustration.

        Tech Tips

        Leave the string inside the grommet.

      2. Disconnect the string from the hood lock control cable assembly.

        *1 Hood Lock Control Cable Assembly
        *2 Grommet

        Using a screwdriver with its tip wrapped in protective tape, detach the clamps and remove the grommet and hood lock control cable assembly.
