The necessary procedures (adjustment, calibration, initialization or registration) that must be performed after parts are removed, installed or replaced during the front seatback heater removal/installation are shown below.

  • Use the same procedure for RHD and LHD vehicles.

  • The procedure listed below is for LHD vehicles.

  • Use the same procedure for the RH side and LH side.

  • The following procedure is for the LH side.

  1. PRECAUTION

    Note

    After turning the engine switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal notice before proceeding with work.

  2. REMOVE FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY LH

    Tech Tips

    The front seatback heater(center) cannot be removed as it is connected to the front seatback sub-assembly LH.

      Detach the hooks.

      B000WYJ Open in this Direction

      Open the fasteners and fold back the separate type front seatback cover.

      *a Wire Harness Clamp
      *b Hook
      B000WYJ Remove in this Direction

      Detach the wire harness clamp and disconnect the connector.

    4. Pass the wire harness of the front seatback sub-assembly LH(front seatback heater) through the hole on the separate type front seatback cover.

    5. Detach the hooks.

      Detach the hooks.

      Detach the fastening tape.

      Pass the hooks through the hole on the separate type front seatback cover.

      Fold back the front upper seatback cover sub-assembly LH and remove the 2 bolts.

      Fold back the front upper seatback cover sub-assembly LH and remove the 2 bolts.

      Fold back the front upper seatback cover sub-assembly LH and remove the bolt.

      Insert your hands at the positions shown in the illustration and pull in the removal direction to detach the guides and remove the front seatback sub-assembly LH(front seatback heater).

    Tech Tips

    The front seatback heater(side) cannot be removed as it is connected to the separate type front seatback cover.

      Pass the bracket of the separate type front seatback cover(front seatback heater) through the hole on the separate type front seatback pad.

      Remove the 9 hog rings and separate type front seatback cover(front seatback heater) from the separate type front seatback pad.

  15. REMOVE FRONT SEATBACK PAD WITH COVER LH (FRONT SEATBACK HEATER) (for Sports Seat Type)

    Tech Tips

    The front seatback heater cannot be removed as it is connected to the front seatback pad with cover LH.

      Detach the hooks.

      Pull out the fasteners from the pockets.

    3. Open the fasteners and fold back the cover.

      Remove the nut and bracket.

    5. Detach the wire harness clamp.

      Lift up the front seatback pad with cover LH (front seatback heater) in the removal direction shown in the illustration to remove it.
