Note
After turning the engine switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal notices before proceeding with work.

Deployment Side |
When storing the curtain shield airbag assembly LH, keep the airbag deployment side facing upward.
If the airbag deploys for any reason, it may cause a serious accident.
Check that the engine switch is off.
Check that the cable is disconnected from the negative (-) battery terminal.
CAUTION:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.
If the airbag deploys for any reason, it may cause a serious accident.

Using a screwdriver, release the lock button and disconnect the airbag connector.
Note
When disconnecting any airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.
Tech Tips
Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
Remove the 4 bolts in the order shown in the illustration.
Using needle-nose pliers, remove the 7 pins from the clip (A).
Using 2 screwdrivers, detach the 7 clips (A) from the vehicle.
Tech Tips
Remove the clips (A) together with the curtain shield airbag assembly LH from the body.
Remove the 2 clips (B) of the vehicle front side deployment portion.
Remove the clip (B) of the vehicle rear side deployment portion.
Detach the 2 clips (C) of the inflator and remove the curtain shield airbag assembly LH.
