| DTC Code | DTC Name |
|---|---|
| B16A7 | Lost Communication with Pedestrian Protection Sensor Bus LH |
| B16A8 | Pedestrian Protection Sensor Bus Initialization Incomplete (LH) |
DESCRIPTION
The pedestrian detection sensor LH circuit consists of the pedestrian detection ECU assembly and pedestrian protection sensor LH.
The pedestrian protection sensor LH detects impacts to the vehicle and sends signals to the pedestrian detection ECU assembly to determine if the pop up hood should be deployed.
These DTCs are stored when a malfunction is detected in the pedestrian detection sensor LH circuit.

CAUTION / NOTICE / HINT
Note
After turning the engine switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal notices before proceeding with work.
When disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal while performing repairs, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.
PROCEDURE
CHECK CONNECTION OF CONNECTORS
Turn the engine switch off.
Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal, and wait for at least 90 seconds.
Check that the connectors are properly connected to the pedestrian detection ECU assembly and pedestrian detection chamber assembly (pedestrian detection sensor LH).
