DESCRIPTION

The airbag ECU assembly consists of a deceleration sensor, safing sensor, drive circuit, diagnosis circuit, ignition control, etc.

If the airbag ECU assembly receives signals from the deceleration sensor, it determines whether or not the SRS should be activated.

DTC B1160/31, B1161/31, B1162/31, B1163/31, B1164/31, B1165/31, B1166/31, B1167/31 is stored when a malfunction is detected in the airbag ECU assembly.

Tech Tips

If a DTC (except B1160/31, B1161/31, B1162/31, B1163/31, B1164/31, B1165/31, B1166/31 or B1167/31) is output at the same time as B1160/31, B1161/31, B1162/31, B1163/31, B1164/31, B1165/31, B1166/31 or B1167/31 repair the malfunction from that DTC first.

      Note

      If only DTC B1160/31, B1161/31, B1162/31, B1163/31, B1164/31, B1165/31, B1166/31 or B1167/31 is output, do not clear the DTCs. Replace the airbag ECU assembly.

      Tech Tips

      If any DTCs other than DTC DTC B1160/31, B1161/31, B1162/31, B1163/31, B1164/31, B1165/31, B1166/31 and B1167/31 are also output, troubleshoot those DTCs first.
