Note
After turning the engine switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal notices before proceeding with work.
REMOVE NO. 2 DECK BOARD
DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
CAUTION:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.
If the airbag deploys for any reason, it may cause a serious accident.
Note
When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.
REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL SAFETY PAD SUB-ASSEMBLY
REMOVE NO. 3 HEATER TO REGISTER DUCT
REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL PASSENGER AIRBAG ASSEMBLY

Deployment Side |
When storing the instrument panel passenger airbag assembly, keep the airbag deployment side facing upward.
If the airbag deploys for any reason, it may cause a serious accident.
Remove the 2 screws.
Insert moulding remover B, into the side of the airbag door facing the front of the vehicle and detach the hooks.

Raise the instrument panel passenger airbag assembly in the direction indicated by the arrow shown in the illustration to detach the hooks on the side of the airbag door facing the rear of the vehicle and remove the instrument panel passenger airbag assembly.
REMOVE NO. 3 INSTRUMENT PANEL WIRE

Using a screwdriver, release the lock button and disconnect the airbag connector.
Note
When disconnecting any airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.
Tech Tips
Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
Use the same procedure for the other airbag connectors.
Detach the wire harness clamp and remove the No. 3 instrument panel wire.
