HEATED STEERING WHEEL CONTROLLER REMOVAL

The necessary procedures (adjustment, calibration, initialization, or registration) that must be performed after parts are removed, installed, or replaced during the steering wheel heater control assembly removal/installation are shown below.

PROCEDURE


  1. PRECAUTION

    Note

    After turning the engine switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal notices before proceeding with work.

  2. REMOVE STEERING WHEEL ASSEMBLY

  3. DISCONNECT LOWER STEERING WHEEL BOSS COVER


    1. B000UGZ

      Remove the 2 screws, detach the 2 claws and lift up the lower steering wheel boss cover by 20 mm (0.787 in.).

      Note


      • B000XISC02
        *a 20 mm (0.787 in.) or less

        Do not lift the lower steering wheel boss cover more than 20 mm (0.787 in.).

      • B000XZ4C02
        *1 Heater Thermistor

        Do not detach the 2 bottom claws.

      • Work carefully so that the heater thermistor does not come off the lower steering wheel boss cover .

      • If the heater thermistor comes off the lower steering wheel boss cover, replace the steering wheel assembly.

  4. REMOVE STEERING WHEEL HEATER CONTROL ASSEMBLY


    1. B000VXX

      Disconnect the connector.

    2. Disengage the guide to remove the wire harness from the lower steering wheel boss cover.

      *a Using part A

      Using part A as a fulcrum, move the lower steering wheel boss cover so the screws can be removed, remove the 2 screws and remove the steering wheel heater controller assembly from the lower steering wheel boss cover.

      Note


      • Work carefully so that the heater thermistor does not come off the lower steering wheel boss cover.

      • If the heater thermistor comes off the lower steering wheel boss cover, replace the steering wheel assembly.
