DESCRIPTION

The power steering ECU (rack and pinion power steering gear assembly) determines whether ECM, steering sensor, VGRS ECU (front steering control ECU)* are installed based on the identification infomation.

 EPS warning light: Comes on Engine switch on (IG) again -

Note

If the rack and pinion power steering gear assembly has been replaced, perform assist map writing and torque sensor zero point calibration.

  1. CHECK RELATED PART


    1. Confirm if the related part has the correct part number.

      Related Part ECM

      Note

      When removing the related part to check it, be sure to follow the appropriate procedures and precautions.

  2. CHECK FOR DTC


    1. Select Health Check on the GTS screen and check if system DTCs of the related part are output.

      Tech Tips

      If system DTCs of the related part are stored, assist map writing to the power steering ECU (rack and pinion power steering gear assembly) may not be performed properly.
