REAR BRAKE REASSEMBLY

  • Use the same procedure for the RH and LH sides.

  • The procedure listed below is for the LH side.

PROCEDURE


  1. TEMPORARILY INSTALL REAR DISC BRAKE BLEEDER PLUG

    Tech Tips

    Tighten the rear disc brake bleeder plug after bleeding the system.

  2. INSTALL PISTON SEAL


    1. B000XPLC05
      B000WCG Lithium soap base glycol grease

      Apply lithium soap base glycol grease to the entire circumference of a 4 new piston seals.

    2. B000VVJ

      Install the 4 piston seals to the rear disc brake cylinder assembly LH.

      Note

      Securely install the piston seal into the groove of the rear disc brake cylinder assembly LH.

  3. INSTALL REAR DISC BRAKE PISTON


    1. B000TPBC01
      *1 Cylinder Boot
      *2 Rear Disc Brake Piston
      B000WCG Lithium Soap Base Glycol Grease

      Apply a light layer of lithium soap base glycol grease to the entire circumference of a 4 new cylinder boots.

    2. Install the 4 cylinder boots to the rear disc brake piston.

      Note

      Securely install the cylinder boot into the groove of the rear disc brake piston.

    3. Apply a light layer of lithium soap base glycol grease to the contact surfaces of the 4 rear disc brake pistons, and install it to the rear disc brake cylinder assembly LH.

      Note

      Do not forcibly install the rear disc brake piston into the rear disc brake cylinder assembly LH.

  4. INSTALL CYLINDER BOOT


    1. B000UGPC02
      *1 Cylinder Boot
      *2 Rear Disc Brake Piston
      *3 Rear Disc Brake Cylinder Assembly LH

      Install the 4 cylinder boots to the rear disc brake cylinder assembly LH as shown in the illustration.

      Note


      • Securely install the cylinder boot into the groove of the rear disc brake cylinder assembly LH and rear disc brake piston.

      • Do not damage the cylinder boot.
