SHIFT LEVER INSTALLATION

PROCEDURE


  1. INSTALL TRANSMISSION FLOOR SHIFT ASSEMBLY


    1. B000VLOC02
      *A for LHD
      *B for RHD

      Install the transmission floor shift assembly to the body with the 4 bolts.

      Torque:
      8.3 N*m  { 85 kgf*cm, 73 in.*lbf }

      Tech Tips

      Tighten the bolts in the tightening order shown in the illustration.

      *A for LHD
      *B for RHD

      Connect the transmission floor shift assembly connector.

  2. INSTALL UPPER NO. 1 CONSOLE SUPPORT BRACKET


    1. B000X0ZC01
      *A for LHD
      *B for RHD

      Install the upper No. 1 console support bracket to the body with the 2 bolts.

      Torque:
      8.0 N*m  { 82 kgf*cm, 71 in.*lbf }

    2. for LHD:

      Connect the 2 wire harness clamps to the upper No. 1 console support bracket.

    3. for RHD:

      Connect the wire harness clamp to the upper No. 1 console support bracket.

  3. INSTALL SHIFT POSITION INDICATOR

    Tech Tips

    There is no need to remove this unless the shift position indicator is replaced.

      Install the shift position indicator to the shifting hole cover with the 4 screws.

  4. INSTALL CONSOLE BOX ASSEMBLY

  5. CHECK SHIFT LEVER OPERATION


    1. Apply the parking brake and use wheel chocks to secure the vehicle.

    2. Depress and hold the brake pedal.

    3. Start the engine.

    4. Move the shift lever and check that the shift position indicator display matches the indicator display in the combination meter.

  6. CHECK PARKING SWITCH OPERATION


    1. Apply the parking brake and use wheel chocks to secure the vehicle.

    2. Depress and hold the brake pedal.

    3. Start the engine.

    4. Operate the parking switch and check that the illumination condition of the parking switch indicator light matches the indicator display in the combination meter.
