PROCEDURE
REMOVE TAILPIPE ASSEMBLY
REMOVE MAIN MUFFLER HEAT INSULATOR
Detach the 2 clips and remove the 9 nuts and main muffler heat insulator from the body.
DISCONNECT FUEL TANK VENT HOSE SUB-ASSEMBLY
Disconnect the fuel tank vent hose sub-assembly from the charcoal canister assembly.

Pinch the tabs of the retainer to detach the lock claws and pull it down.
Note
Remove any dirt or foreign matter on the tube connector before performing this work.
Do not allow any scratches or foreign matter to get on the parts when disconnecting them as the tube connector has an O-ring that seals the pipe (charcoal canister assembly).
Perform this work by hand. Do not use any tools.
Do not forcibly bend, twist or turn the fuel tank vent hose sub-assembly.
Protect the disconnected parts by covering them with plastic bags after disconnecting the fuel tank vent hose sub-assembly.
If the tube connector and pipe (charcoal canister assembly) are stuck, push and pull to release them.

Tech Tips
Do not remove the retainer.
Pull off the fuel tank vent hose sub-assembly from the pipe (charcoal canister assembly).
DISCONNECT CHARCOAL CANISTER OUTLET TUBE SUB-ASSEMBLY
Disconnect the charcoal canister outlet tube sub-assembly from the fuel outlet valve assembly.

Pinch the tabs of the retainer to detach the lock claws and pull it down.

REMOVE CHARCOAL CANISTER ASSEMBLY
Detach the 2 clamps and disconnect the connector from the canister pump module.
Slide the clamp and disconnect the purge line hose from the fuel tube.
Remove the 4 nuts.
Detach the clip and remove the charcoal canister assembly from the body.
REMOVE FUEL OUTLET VALVE ASSEMBLY
Disconnect the fuel outlet valve assembly from the charcoal canister assembly.

Tech Tips
Do not remove the retainer.
Pull off the fuel outlet valve assembly from the pipe (charcoal canister assembly).
Remove the 3 nuts and fuel outlet valve assembly from the charcoal canister assembly.
REMOVE CANISTER PUMP MODULE
Tech Tips
Only perform this procedure when replacement of the canister pump module is necessary.
Before removing the canister pump module, clean the charcoal canister sub-assembly by blowing air into it to ensure that the charcoal canister sub-assembly is free of foreign matter.
Note
Make sure to clean the charcoal canister sub-assembly using air only.
Do not use gasoline, thinners or solvents.
Detach the 2 claws and remove the canister pump module from the filter assembly.
Tech Tips
Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
Check if the filter assembly contains foreign matter such as mud or water.
Visually check that the inside of the filter assembly is free of foreign matter.
Hold the filter assembly upside down to make sure that it is free of foreign matter.
If the filter assembly contains foreign matter, replace the canister pump module.
