DESCRIPTION

The front corner ultrasonic sensor (front left sensor) is installed on the front bumper. The clearance warning ECU assembly detects obstacles based on signals received from the front corner ultrasonic sensor (front left sensor). If the front corner ultrasonic sensor (front left sensor) has an open circuit or other malfunction, it will not function normally.

Note

If DTCs are output after repairs, turn the engine switch on (IG) and the LEXUS parking assist-sensor system on. Then clear the DTCs.

PROCEDURE


  1. INSPECT FRONT CORNER ULTRASONIC SENSOR (FRONT LEFT SENSOR)


    1. Remove the front corner ultrasonic sensor (front left sensor).

    2. Inspect the front corner ultrasonic sensor (front left sensor).

    REPLACE FRONT CORNER ULTRASONIC SENSOR (FRONT LEFT SENSOR) Click here

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (FRONT CORNER ULTRASONIC SENSOR [FRONT LEFT SENSOR] - CLEARANCE WARNING ECU ASSEMBLY)


    1. Disconnect the D1 front corner ultrasonic sensor (front left sensor) connector.

    2. Disconnect the X12 clearance warning ECU assembly connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      D1-2 (S) - X12-21 (S6) Always Below 1 Ω
      D1-1 (E) - X12-22 (E6) Always Below 1 Ω
      D1-2 (S) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      D1-1 (E) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
