SEAT HEATER SYSTEM Seat Heater for Front Right Seat does not Operate

DESCRIPTION

When the seat heater switch of the refreshing seat switch is operated, the air conditioning amplifier assembly receives a signal and operates the front seat heater.

Note


  • If the battery voltage is low, the seat heater system may not operate due to operation of battery load control, check the Data List item "Battery Control Count (Body ECU)".

PROCEDURE


  1. CLEAR DTC


    1. Clear the DTCs.


      Body Electrical > Air Conditioner > Clear DTCs

  2. CHECK FOR DTC


    1. Check for DTCs.


      Body Electrical > Air Conditioner > Trouble Codes
      OK
      DTC B14B5 or B14C0 is not output.

  3. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING GTS


    1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the engine switch on (IG).

    3. Turn the GTS on.

    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Air Conditioner / Active Test.

    5. Perform the Active Test according to the display on the GTS.

      Disconnect the a18 seat heater control sub-assembly RH connector.

    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

  7. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (AIR CONDITIONING AMPLIFIER ASSEMBLY - SEAT HEATER CONTROL SUB-ASSEMBLY RH)


    1. Disconnect the a18 seat heater control sub-assembly RH connector.

    2. Disconnect the K56 air conditioning amplifier assembly connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      K56-16 (SHP+) - a18-5 (SWR) Always Below 1 Ω
      K56-16 (SHP+) or a18-5 (SWR) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    1. Disconnect the a16 front seat cushion heater assembly RH connector.

    2. Disconnect the a18 seat heater control sub-assembly RH connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      a18-10 (E) - a16-6 Always Below 1 Ω
      a18-10 (E) or a16-6 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      a18-7 (HTR1) - a16-1 Always Below 1 Ω
