NAVIGATION SYSTEM MirrorLink Function cannot be Started

  • When replacing the radio and display receiver assembly, always replace it with a new one. If a radio and display receiver assembly which was installed to another vehicle is used, the following may occur:


    • A communication malfunction DTC may be stored.

    • The radio and display receiver assembly may not operate normally.

  1. CHECK SMARTPHONE


    1. Check that the connected smartphone is powered on.

  2. CHECK CONNECTION METHOD


    1. Check that the connection method.

    1. Check that "MirrorLink" is not illuminated on the information screen of the multi-display.

      • MirrorLink application certification has an expiration date. An internet connection is required to update the certification. The certification can be verified and updated manually on some smartphones.

  11. CHECK USAGE CONDITION


    1. Check that the vehicle and smartphone meet the following conditions:

      If changing smartphone settings, updating software, etc. is necessary, make sure to obtain the permission of the customer before performing it.


      • The smartphone is "MirrorLink ("Wi-Fi")" compatible.

      • The smartphone is registered as a "MirrorLink ("Wi-Fi")" device.

      • "MirrorLink ("Wi-Fi")" setting of the smartphone is on.

      • "MirrorLink ("Wi-Fi")" setting of the radio and display receiver assembly is on.

      • Operating system and software of the smartphone are the latest versions.

      • There are no other radio wave emitting devices ("Bluetooth" communication device, etc.) in the cabin.

      • The "Bluetooth" setting of the smartphone is off.

      • The "Wi-Fi" tethering setting of the smartphone is off.

      Tech Tips

      Typically the default of MirrorLink connection setting is USB, it is required to turn "Wi-Fi" connection on manually. Some smartphone may not support "Wi-Fi" connection, in that case, only USB connection is available.

    2. Connect the smartphone to the in-vehicle device and check that it is connected correctly.

  12. RESTART SMARTPHONE


    1. Restart the smartphone.

    2. Turn the ignition switch off.

    3. Turn the ignition switch to ACC.

    4. Connect the smartphone to the in-vehicle device and check that it is connected correctly.

    1. Check if the in-vehicle device can be recognized by the smartphone.

    1. Clear all "MirrorLink ("Wi-Fi")" devices registered to the smartphone and the radio and display receiver assembly.

    2. Register the smartphone again.

    3. Connect the smartphone to the in-vehicle device and check that it is connected correctly.

    1. Check if the customer's smartphone functions normally using another "MirrorLink ("Wi-Fi")" compatible vehicle.

      • After the inspection, clear the registered information and usage history acquired during the inspection.
