DESCRIPTION

The cooler control switch assembly is connected via AVC-LAN communication line.

This DTC is stored when an AVC-LAN communication error occurs between the radio and display receiver assembly and cooler control switch assembly.

When either of the following conditions is met:


  • The cooler control switch assembly is/was not connected while the ignition switch is/was ACC or IG

  • Communication between the master unit and the cooler control switch assembly is not possible when the engine is started.


  • Cooler control switch assembly power source circuit

  • AVC-LAN circuit between radio and display receiver assembly and cooler control switch assembly

  • Cooler control switch assembly

  • Radio and display receiver assembly

  • Harness or connector

Tip:

The radio and display receiver assembly is the master unit.

Note:
  • Depending on the parts that are replaced during vehicle inspection or maintenance, performing initialization, registration or calibration may be needed. Refer to Precaution for Audio and Visual System.

  • When replacing the radio and display receiver assembly, always replace it with a new one. If a radio and display receiver assembly which was installed to another vehicle is used, the following may occur:


    • A communication malfunction DTC may be stored.

    • The radio and display receiver assembly may not operate normally.


  • Inspect the fuses for circuits related to this system before performing the following procedure.

    CHECK OPTIONAL COMPONENTS (INCLUDING ASSOCIATED WIRING)


    1. Check that optional components (including associated wiring) which generate radio waves are not installed.

      Tip:
      • Electrical noise from radio waves generated by optional components or the wiring for those components may affect AVC-LAN communication.

      • This DTC may be stored when an AVC-LAN communication error occurs due to electrical noise.

    REMOVE OPTIONAL COMPONENTS (INCLUDING ASSOCIATED WIRING)


    1. Remove optional components (including associated wiring).

      Note:

      Do not remove optional components or associated wiring without the permission of the customer.

    CHECK DTC


    1. Clear the DTCs.


      1. Body Electrical > Navigation System > Clear DTCs


    2. Recheck for DTCs and check that no DTCs are output.

    CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (COOLER CONTROL SWITCH ASSEMBLY POWER SOURCE)


    1. Disconnect the Z1 cooler control switch assembly connector.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      Z1-16 (GND) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
    3. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      Z1-9 (+B) - Z1-16 (GND) Always 11 to 14 V
      Z1-10 (IG+) - Z1-16 (GND) Ignition switch ON 11 to 14 V
      Z1-1 (ACC) - Z1-16 (GND) Ignition switch ACC 11 to 14 V

    CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (COOLER CONTROL SWITCH ASSEMBLY - RADIO AND DISPLAY RECEIVER ASSEMBLY)


    1. Disconnect the Z1 cooler control switch assembly connector.

    2. Disconnect the K3 radio and display receiver assembly connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      Z1-7 (TX+) - K3-5 (TX1+) Always Below 1 Ω
      Z1-8 (TX-) - K3-6 (TX1-) Always Below 1 Ω
      Z1-7 (TX+) or K3-5 (TX1+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      Z1-8 (TX-) or K3-6 (TX1-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    REPLACE COOLER CONTROL SWITCH ASSEMBLY


    1. Replace the cooler control switch assembly with a new or known good one.

    2. Clear the DTCs.


      1. Body Electrical > Navigation System > Clear DTCs


    3. Recheck for DTCs and check that no DTCs are output.


      1. Body Electrical > Navigation System > Trouble Codes
