DESCRIPTION

Different voltage values are sent to the multiplex tilt and telescopic ECU by operating the tilt and telescopic switch. The multiplex tilt and telescopic ECU then judges which motor and in which direction that motor should operate based on the voltage value.

PROCEDURE


  1. READ VALUE USING GTS (TILT MANUAL SWITCH UP/DOWN, TELESCOPIC MANUAL SWITCH SHORT/LONG)


    1. Turn the engine switch off.

    2. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    3. Turn the engine switch on (IG).

    4. Turn the GTS on.

    5. Read the Data List according to the display on the GTS.

  2. CONFIRM DTC


    1. Clear the DTCs.


      Body Electrical > Tilt&Telescopic > Clear DTCs

    2. Check for DTCs.


      Body Electrical > Tilt&Telescopic > Trouble Codes

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (MULTIPLEX TILT AND TELESCOPIC ECU - TILT AND TELESCOPIC SWITCH)


    1. Disconnect the K72 multiplex tilt and telescopic ECU connector.

    2. Disconnect the K44 tilt and telescopic switch connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      K72-5 (VC) - K44-1 (VC) Always Below 1 Ω
      K72-18 (MSW) - K44-3 (MSW) Always Below 1 Ω
      K72-5 (VC) or K44-1 (VC) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      K72-18 (MSW) or K44-3 (MSW) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
