DTC Code DTC Name
P0571 Stop Light Switch Circuit

DESCRIPTION

DTC No. Detection Item DTC Detection Condition Trouble Area
P0571 Stop Light Switch Circuit

    Condition 1:

  • While the vehicle speed is 5 km/h (3 mph) or more and the dynamic radar cruise control system is operating, the ECM detects the stop light control relay malfunction signal from the skid control ECU (brake actuator assembly) for approximately 0.5 seconds or more.

    Condition 2:

  • While the engine switch is on (IG) and the dynamic radar cruise control system is operating, voltage of the STP terminal and that of the ST1- terminal of the ECM are less than 1 V for approximately 0.5 seconds or more.

    Condition 1:

  • Pre-collision system

    Condition 2:

  • Stop light switch assembly

  • Harness or connector

  • ECM

Note

  • Inspect the fuses for circuits related to this system before performing the following procedure.

  • Before replacing the ECM, refer to Service Bulletin.

Tech Tips

When DTC P0571 is stored by the dynamic radar cruise control system, DTC C1A4B is stored by the pre-collision system. Therefore, if DTC P0571 is stored, inspect the pre-collision system first.

PROCEDURE

  1. CHECK FOR DTCs (PRE-COLLISION SYSTEM)

    1. Check for DTCs of the pre-collision system.
