INTAKE MANIFOLD INSTALLATION

PROCEDURE


  1. INSTALL INTAKE MANIFOLD


    1. Install the wire harness clamp bracket to the intake manifold with the bolt.

      Torque:
      10 N*m  { 102 kgf*cm, 7 ft.*lbf }
    2. B0070CDC02
      *a Black

      Connect the 2 vacuum hoses and check that the No. 1 check valve is installed as shown in the illustration.

    3. w/ TCV:


      1. Check the 4 tumble control valves (TCV).

        Note

        The 4 tumble control valves (TCV) may be damaged if they are not closed before installing the intake manifold.

        Tech Tips

        Apply battery voltage to the terminals of the intake air control valve actuator (for TCV) to operate the motor and close the 4 tumble control valves (TCV).

    4. Install a new intake manifold to head gasket to the intake manifold.

    5. Temporarily install the intake manifold to the cylinder head sub-assembly with the 6 bolts.

      *B w/ TCV

      Tighten the 6 bolts in the order shown in the illustration.

      Torque:
      28 N*m  { 286 kgf*cm, 21 ft.*lbf }

    7. w/ TCV:


      1. B0070KZC01
        *A w/o TCV
        *B w/ TCV

        Connect the intake air control valve actuator (for TCV) connector.

    8. Engage the 2 wire harness clamps.

    9. Connect the engine wire with the bolt.

      Torque:
      10 N*m  { 102 kgf*cm, 7 ft.*lbf }

    10. Install the wire harness clamp bracket to the intake manifold with the bolt.

      Torque:
      10 N*m  { 102 kgf*cm, 7 ft.*lbf }

    11. Engage the 3 wire harness clamps.

    12. Connect the fuel vapor feed hose to the intake manifold and slide the clip to secure it.

  2. CONNECT UNION TO CONNECTOR TUBE HOSE (for LHD)


    1. Connect the union to connector tube hose to the intake manifold and slide the clip to secure it.

  3. CONNECT UNION TO CHECK VALVE HOSE (for RHD)


    1. Connect the union to check valve hose to the intake manifold and slide the clip to secure it.

  4. CONNECT NO. 2 VENTILATION HOSE


    1. Connect the No. 2 ventilation hose to the intake manifold and slide the clip to secure it.

  5. INSTALL THROTTLE WITH MOTOR BODY ASSEMBLY
