FUEL PUMP(w/o Canister Pump Module) REASSEMBLY

PROCEDURE

1. INSTALL FUEL PUMP

   Tech Tips

   Perform "Inspection After Repair" after replacing the fuel pump.

   1. 

      *1	O-ring
      *2	Fuel Pump Spacer

      Apply gasoline to a new O-ring. Then install the O-ring and fuel pump spacer to the fuel pump.

   2. Engage the 3 claws to install the fuel pump to the fuel filter.

      Note

      
      

      • Make sure that the O-ring is not cut or pinched during the installation.

      • Securely engage the claws.

      • Do not remove the suction filter from the fuel pump.

   3. 

      Connect the fuel pump harness connector to install the fuel pump harness to the fuel pump.

   4. 

      Engage the claw to connect the fuel pump harness to the fuel pump.

      Note

      
      

      • Securely engage the claw.

      • Make sure that there is no foreign matter between the fuel pump and the ground terminal of the fuel pump harness.

      • Make sure that the ground terminal of the fuel pump harness is securely connected to the fuel pump body.

   5. Check the connection state of the fuel pump harness.

      
      

      1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

         Standard Resistance
         Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition Fuel pump body - Ground terminal of the fuel pump harness Always Below 50 Ω

         If the result is not as specified, reconnect the fuel pump harness to the fuel pump so that the ground terminal of the fuel pump harness is securely connected to the fuel pump body.

   6. Apply gasoline to a new O-ring. Then install the O-ring to the fuel sub-tank.

   7. 

      Install the fuel filter to the fuel sub-tank as shown in the illustration.

      Note

      Make sure that the O-ring is not cut or pinched during installation.

   8. Engage the 3 claws.

      Note

      Securely engage the claws.

   9. Engage the clamp to connect the tube to the fuel filter.

   10. Engage the clamp to connect the fuel pump harness to the fuel suction plate sub-assembly.

   11. Connect the 2 fuel pump harness connectors.

   12. Install the harness protector to the fuel pump harness.
