THROTTLE BODY INSTALLATION

PROCEDURE

1. INSTALL THROTTLE BODY GASKET

   
   
   1. 

      *a	Protrusion

      Install a new throttle body gasket to the intake manifold with the protrusions of the throttle body gasket oriented as shown in the illustration.

2. INSTALL THROTTLE BODY WITH MOTOR ASSEMBLY

   
   

   1. Install the throttle body with motor assembly to the intake manifold with the 4 bolts.

      Torque:

      10 N*m  { 102 kgf*cm, 7 ft.*lbf }

      Note

      If the throttle body with motor assembly has been struck or dropped, replace it.

   2. 

      *1	No. 1 Water By-pass Hose
      *2	No. 2 Water By-pass Hose
      *a	45° (Claw of Clip Location)
      *b	Paint Mark
      *c	Up
      *d	Left of Vehicle

      Connect the throttle body with motor assembly connector.

   3. Connect the No. 1 water by-pass hose and No. 2 water by-pass hose to the throttle body with motor assembly and slide the 2 clips to secure them.

      Note

      Make sure to position each clip as shown in the illustration.

   4. Install the fuel hose bracket to the throttle body with motor assembly with the bolt.

      Torque:

      11 N*m  { 112 kgf*cm, 8 ft.*lbf }

   5. Engage the clamp to connect the fuel tube sub-assembly to the fuel hose bracket.

   6. Engage the 2 clamps and connect the heater hose.

3. INSTALL AIR CLEANER CAP WITH AIR CLEANER HOSE

   
   

   1. 

      *a	Protrusion
      *b	Cutout
      *c	Front of Vehicle
      *d	8 to 14 mm (0.315 to 0.551 in.)

      Install the air cleaner cap with air cleaner hose to the throttle body with motor assembly as shown in the illustration.

      Note

      Align the cutout of the air cleaner hose with the protrusion of the throttle body with motor assembly.

   2. Tighten the hose clamp in the position shown in the illustration.

   3. 

      Engage the 2 clamps to connect the No. 2 fuel vapor feed hose assembly.

   4. 

      *a	45° (Claw of Clip Location)
      *b	Paint Mark
      *c	Up

      Connect the ventilation hose to the cylinder head cover sub-assembly and slide the clip to secure it.

      Note

      Make sure to position the clip as shown in the illustration.

   5. Engage the 2 guides to install the air cleaner cap sub-assembly to the air cleaner case sub-assembly.

   6. Engage the 2 air cleaner cap clamps.

   7. Engage the 2 wire harness clamps.

   8. Connect the mass air flow meter sub-assembly connector.

4. ADD ENGINE COOLANT

5. INSPECT FOR COOLANT LEAK

6. INSTALL NO. 1 ENGINE COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY

   Click here

7. PERFORM INITIALIZATION

   Note

   
   

   • Be sure to perform this procedure after removing and reinstalling the throttle body with motor assembly or any throttle body with motor assembly components.

   • Perform the following procedure after replacing the throttle body with motor assembly or any throttle body with motor assembly components. The following procedure should also be performed if the throttle body with motor assembly is cleaned.

   
   

   1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

   2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.

   3. Turn the GTS on.

   4. Clear the DTCs.

      
      Powertrain > Engine and ECT > Clear DTCs

   5. Perform "Inspection After Repair".

   6. Start the engine and check that the MIL is not illuminated. After the engine is warmed up, check that the idle speed is within the specified range with the A/C switch off.

      Standard Idle Speed
      610 to 710 rpm

      Note

      
      

      • Be sure to perform this step with all accessories off.

      • Make sure that the shift lever is in P or N.

   7. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / Data List / Throttle Sensor Volt %.

      
      Powertrain > Engine and ECT > Data List

      Tester Display
      Throttle Sensor Volt %

   8. According to the display on the GTS, read the Data List while fully depressing the accelerator pedal and check that the value is 60% or higher.

   9. Perform a road test and confirm that there are no abnormalities.
