    1. General

      The automatic headlight beam level control system ensures forward visibility and prevents dazzling of drivers in oncoming and preceding vehicles by controlling the headlight beam level vertically when the weight of passengers and loads has caused the vehicle attitude to change.

    2. Function of Main Components

      Headlight Leveling ECU Assembly Receives various signals, calculates changes in the vehicle posture, and actuates the headlight leveling motor.
      Headlight Leveling Motor

      • Based on the signals received from the headlight leveling ECU assembly, the motors move the reflectors in the headlight to change the low beam angle.

      • Uses a stepper motor to precisely regulate the angle of the projector.
      Rear Height Control Sensor Sub-assembly LH Transmits a height control sensor signal to the headlight leveling ECU assembly.
      Skid Control ECU Assembly Transmits a speed sensor signal to the headlight leveling ECU assembly.
      Hybrid Vehicle Control ECU Assembly Transmits a READY ON status signal to the headlight leveling ECU assembly.
      Main Body ECU (Multiplex Network Body ECU) Transmits a headlight status signal to the headlight leveling ECU assembly.
      Combination Meter Assembly If the system malfunctions, the combination meter assembly alerts the driver by flashing the headlight leveling warning light and displaying "Check Headlight System" on the multi-information display in accordance with the signal from the headlight leveling ECU assembly.
