DESCRIPTION

    Both of the following conditions are met:

  • The blind spot monitor main switch (warning canceling switch assembly) is on

  • The blind spot monitor sensor is attempting to sound the buzzer but the buzzer receives voltage above a specified level for a specified period of time


  • Blind spot monitor sensor RH

  • RCTA buzzer (blind spot monitor buzzer)

  • Wire harness or connector

C1ABE Short to GND or Open in Buzzer

    Both of the following conditions are met:

  • The blind spot monitor main switch (warning canceling switch assembly) is on

  • The blind spot monitor sensor is not sounding the buzzer but the buzzer receives voltage below a specified level for a specified period of time.


  • Blind spot monitor sensor RH

  • RCTA buzzer (blind spot monitor buzzer)

  • Wire harness or connector

Note


  • When checking for DTCs, make sure that the blind spot main switch (warning canceling switch assembly) is on.

  • Inspect the fuses for circuits related to this system before performing the following procedure.

PROCEDURE


  1. CHECK DTC


    1. Clear the DTCs.

      Click here


      Body Electrical > Blind Spot Monitor Slave > Clear DTCs
    2. Recheck for DTCs and check if the same DTC is output again.


      Body Electrical > Blind Spot Monitor Slave > Trouble Codes
      OK
      No DTCs are output.
      Result

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (RCTA BUZZER - AUXILIARY BATTERY AND BLIND SPOT MONITOR SENSOR RH)


    1. Disconnect the U30 RCTA buzzer (blind spot monitor buzzer) connector.

    2. Disconnect the U48 blind spot monitor sensor RH connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      U30-2 (BZN) - U48-3 (BUZ) Always Below 1 Ω
      U30-2 (BZN) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
    4. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      U30-1 (BZP) - Body ground Power switch on (IG) 11 to 14 V
      U30-1 (BZP) - Body ground Power switch off Below 1 V
      Result

  3. REPLACE RCTA BUZZER (BLIND SPOT MONITOR BUZZER)


    1. Replace the RCTA buzzer (blind spot monitor buzzer).
